VOCFM talks to Strictly Halaal

After a recent interview with Voice of the Cape radio station discussing various aspects of the Halaal Industry the Radio station had this to say about the strictlyhalaal.com project.

New halaal directory for SA

A new initiative is set to make waves not only in South Africa, but eventually across the globe. Five innovative Capetonian men this week launched a new service at www.strictlyhalaal.com, an online platform aimed at providing information and resources to encourage the public to adopt and embrace a fully halaal lifestyle. Speaking to VOC on behalf of the group, Abdul Waheed Patel said they spent many months researching the local and global halaal market place to enable them to provide a holistic service to both clients and consumers.

“We spent the last six months just trying to understand what’s actually going on in the halaal market place globally, but also in South Africa,” explained Patel. “…what are the big issues that affect consumers, that affect halaal authorities, that affect the halaal businesses that are certified.” According to Patel, the website not only deals with certified businesses, but those that are owned by Muslims and run in accordance with the practices of Islam.
